Hi everyone! I’m Andrea, and I am excited to be guest posting on Blush Blossoms! I look forward to being able to connect with you all over the next several months through a series of health and fitness guest posts. So, here is a little bit about me. I’m a mother of two boys. I am married, and together, my husband and I have four children. I am 30 years young and began my health and fitness journey back in 2011. When I checked into the hospital, to give birth to my youngest son, I weighed in at 193 lbs. Keep in mind, I am not quite 5’4 and my youngest son was only a 7lb 10 oz baby. So, I had a long way to go to get my body back to a healthy place. After 18 months of hard work, I lost the extra 75 pounds I had gained during my second pregnancy.
Throughout the ups and downs, frustrations and plateaus of my journey, I decided I wanted to help other women in my shoes. I wanted to help those without nutrition education learn how to eat right and fuel their bodies; those who didn’t have the knowledge on how to exercise right, learn to strengthen themselves; those who didn’t know help was out there, get help. I also wanted to help those hurting from eating disorders. Growing up, the only way I knew how to make changes to my physical appearance was to starve myself, leading to anorexia. This disorder is debilitating. It hurt me. And it affects and destroys the lives of so many.
At the heart of my health and fitness journey was learning to love myself. I had a less than ideal childhood. The environment in which I grew up led to addiction, eating disorders, and an unattainable idea of perfection. Becoming a health and fitness coach has forever changed my life, my self-worth, my confidence, the list could go on forever. Mind, body, soul. I learned, developed, and grew as an individual and woman. I started my journey without a sliver of knowledge about health and fitness. Now, I have the privilege of helping hundreds of women leap over frustrations and plateaus (like I once had) to make their dreams come true. And, in doing so, my passion and fire to do what I do continue to grow.
Everything I teach my clients, I practice in my own life. All of these practices can be done from the comfort of home. The home workouts are basically like a gym’s version of Netflix ;). One can get access to all workouts online and view them through a phone, tablet, computer, or smart TV. All workouts offer schedules and meal guides. There are a plethora of workout options: weight training, cardio, weight/cardio mix, Pilates, yoga, and even dance workouts. There are options for any and all preferences.
