Life Lately: Kindermusik 2018-2019

The school year has begun, and that means the start of another year of extracurricular activities! Baby girl is beyond excited to be joining Miss Tricia for another year of Kindermusik! Unlike last year, it will just be mommy and baby girl participating in class, so babycakes will not have to share mommy. Although sad not to have one of our BFFs joining us for every class, it will be fun to have some structured one on one, mommy and me, time.

Baby girl will be in the Level 3 class for children age 3 years to 4 1/2 years old. She is enrolled for one class a week. However, this class has three separate sections during one week’s time and is therefore offered three times a week. Because of this, if we have to miss our regular class because of illness or a scheduling conflict, there is an opportunity to make up the missed class (THANK GOODNESS). Classes will run for the entire school year with new themes beginning every four weeks.

Level 3 classes focus on activating a toddler’s imagination and learning opportunities meant to “boost language skills, confidence, independence, social-emotional skills, and self-control.” This is a child plus parent class where parents have the chance to connect and bond with their little while enjoying the class. I very much enjoyed how Miss Tricia provided opportunities for parents and caregivers to connect with their littles in a new, and educational, way that is structured and fun last year. I can’t wait to see the ways she will do that this year at an advanced level.

Miss Tricia has been awarded the Top Program status from Kindermusik International for the last four years. The award recognizes the top 200 Kindermusik programs internationally for profoundly impacting the mission to reach all children with the benefits of Kindermusik. She is also honored to be on the Partnership of Kindermusik Educators National Board that represents educators from around the nation and helps to plan the national Kindermusik conference each year.

Like I said last year, we are so fortunate to have an extraordinary teacher. Miss Tricia has a gift, truly. She is one of those rare people who knows everyone’s name: children, parents, siblings, caregivers, and extended family. In a class full of crazy toddlers she brings a calm, loving, and imaginative presence that children gravitate toward. She goes with the flow of the children and has a wonderful recognition of their individual and group needs–being able to adjust to such needs at the moment effortlessly. It takes a truly special person to have the gentle (but also firm) and patient nature she possesses.

Again, Miss Tricia is one of those people who has her business organized and set up so well for parents, communication is a breeze. And, Miss Tricia either answers the phone every time you call or returns calls/texts in a very prompt manner. Class updates and notifications are automatic to both email and text message. There is an online song catalog and “blackboard” parents can log-on at any time for home activities. The only thing I would have changed about our Kindermusik experience last year was the class time and this year that has been greatly improved! I am so thrilled the Level 3 class is at a conducive time to baby girl’s schedule. Kindermusik has been such an enriching time for my daughter, it is my hope to continue to enjoy Kindermusik for years to come!

xoxo, alli
